The Lincoln Terrace Tennis Association (“LTTA”) is a volunteer based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in the Crown Heights, area of Brooklyn, NY. LTTA serves the communities of Brownsville, Crown Heights, Bedford Stuyvesant, Canarsie and Prospect Heights. We are governed by a Board of Directors. There is also an Executive Board which includes the Board of Directors and other appointed members. We are a Community Tennis Association (CTA) with a membership in the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
LTTA operates out of Lincoln Terrace Park. There are currently 11 tennis courts which dates back to the 1930's and were reconstructed in 1996, with new courts, retaining walls, fencing, benches, lighting and handicapped access, and again in 2014. In late 2014, Brooklyn's Park Commissioner Kevin Jeffrey and Council Member Darlene Mealy dedicated the newly reconstructed courts which were part of a project funded by New York City Council. This new construction included 11 tennis courts, drainage systems and drinking fountains, as well as a new sitting and event area with benches. The courts include lines for four junior courts, two of which support our summer youth tennis program and NYC Parks free tennis program.
LTTA has been in existence since the 1960s. Over the last 50 plus years LTTA has grown tremendously. Currently, LTTA offers both a summer and a winter junior and adult programs. In addition to our youth program, we have added an adult program geared towards individuals who have never played tennis or those who are interested in recreational play.
